In order to improve the health and welfare of your horse you can:
- Improve your horse knowledge and level of competency through education.
- Ask your veterinary surgeon about a Health Care Plan for the long-term benefit of your horse. This will include:
- Vaccination Plan
- Worming Programme
- Foot care plan & Farriery
- Dental care
- Previous or existing health problems
- Ask for a further detailed Annual Health Review to include:
- General Management – work load, feed & housing
- Clinical examination
- Emergency procedures checklist
Understand the signs of disease so that you can reduce the impact on your horse.

Permanently identify your horse.

Obtain third party liability insurance and other suitable cover for your horse and the activities in which you participate.
